Jayhawks Ready For NCAA Volleyball Tournament’s First Round

The women’s volleyball team at the University of Kansas finally has the chance to host the first weekend of the NCAA tournament on its true home floor. Kansas Public Radio’s Greg Echlin explains.

The Jayhawks will host Missouri, Missouri State, and Furman University of South Carolina beginning today (THUR) at Horejsi Family Athletics Center on the KU Lawrence campus. Missouri faces Missouri State at 4 p.m., followed by KU versus Furman at 6:30 p.m. Winners of the first round matches will compete tomorrow (FRI) in Lawrence.

Greg Echlin is the sports reporter for KPR and KCUR. Ever since he set foot on the baseball diamond at Fernwood Park on Chicago's South Side, Greg Echlin began a love affair with the world of sports. He moved to Kansas City in 1984 and has been there since covering sports.
