Rural Hospitals in the Midwest Push for Medicaid Expansion

Expanding who’s eligible for health coverage under Medicaid has stirred a heated debate. And in states that have chosen not to expand the program - including Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska - rural hospitals are struggling with the fallout. Many are facing layoffs and even closure. For Harvest Public Media, Alex Smith reports.
