LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Residents of a mobile home park in Lawrence are saying goodbye as they move out to make way for a student apartment complex. Gaslight Mobile Home Village in Lawrence once had about 150 trailers, but residents were told in November the park's owners were selling the property. The new owner, Aspen Heights, plans to build townhouses for about 1,000 University of Kansas students. The trailer park's owners say residents don't have a deadline to be out of the park because the deal with the developers is still being negotiated. The Lawrence Journal-World reports that so far, about 10 residents have relocated. The property owners are paying the moving expenses for people who relocate to another mobile home park in Lawrence.
