33 of 40 Kansas Delegates Go to Santorum
TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — The Kansas Republican Party is projecting that Rick Santorum will get 33 of the state's 40 delegates to the party's national convention after a convincing win in the state's presidential caucuses. Unofficial results from Saturday's voting at 96 sites across the state showed Santorum, a former Pennsylvania U.S. Senator, with 51 percent. Santorum also won Oklahoma's Republican primary on Tuesday. Mitt Romney, the front-runner in the overall race and a former Massachusetts governor, received 21 percent of the vote, just above the 20 percent threshold he needed to claim delegates. The Kansas GOP projects he'll receive seven. But the party has yet to count almost 1,000 provisional ballots. The party says no delegates will go to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who received 14 percent of the vote and Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who received almost 13 percent.
