Yoder’s Fundraising Outpaces Opponents in 3rd District, Davis Leads in Fundraising in 2nd.

The candidates for Congress in Kansas reported their second qurter fundraising totals to the Federal Election Commission Monday.

Challengers hoping to unseat Congressman Kevin Yoder in the Kansas 3rd District find themselves outgunned in the money race. As Celia Llopis-Jepsen of the Kansas News Service explains, Yoder’s fundraising has left them all in the dust.

Meanwhile, former gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis, the lone Democrat seeking to replace outgoing Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, is well ahead in fundraising in the Kansas 2nd Congressional District. Celia Llopis-Jepsen of the Kansas News Service looked into fundraising efforts in that race.
In the vast 1st District of central and western Kansas, Republican U.S. Representative Roger Marshall leads in fundraising with receipts of $1.09 million. In south-central Kansas' 4th District, which includes Wichita, incumbent Republican Congressman Ron Estes is in front with $1.4 million in fundraising totals.
