Someone's Setting Grass Fires in Central Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Arson is suspected in a second-batch of suspicious grass fires in southern Kansas.  Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson says five suspicious fires were set today (TUE) in the south-central part of the county. They were started on land that is part of the federal Conservation Reserve Program, which pays farmers not to cultivate.  The statement didn't say how many acres had burned, and Henderson didn't immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press.  Henderson says the fires appear similar to 14 suspicious fires that were sparked March 14 in the county. The largest of the initial batch of fires damaged several hundred acres of land.  Anyone with information is urged to call authorities.
