Lynn Jenkins Comments on Court Redristricting

Congresswoman Lynn JenkinsRedistricting maps drawn by the federal courts are causing a big shakeup in the Kansas Legislature.  In the House, 21 districts pit existing lawmakers against each other.  Another 25 House districts contain no incumbent representative at all.  The judges also configured new congressional districts.  The new map moves Riley County from the 2nd district into the Big First District of central and western Kansas.  It also puts the city of Lawrence entirely in the 2nd district, which is currently represented by Republican Lynn Jenkins.

Secretary of State Kris Kobach says he won't file an appeal to block or alter the redistricting maps.
