KS Officials: Cash Donations Best Way to Help in Oklahoma

The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is urging Kansans who want to help the recovery in Oklahoma to make cash donations. Spokesperson Sharon Watson says cash donations are easiest to use for the non-profit organizations assisting in the recovery. She says donations of food, clothing or other supplies can be difficult for responders to handle.

Watson says Kansas emergency responders are prepared to help in Oklahoma. She says they’re waiting for Oklahoma officials to determine what assistance they need. Watson says states generally make those requests within the first few days following a natural disaster.
