Ex-Astronaut Teaches KU Class on Extra-Terrestrial Life

Is there life beyond planet Earth? That's a big question... and one that students at the University of Kansas are trying to answer. KU offers a class about extra-terrestrial life. It's taught by former NASA astronaut Steve Hawley, a KU professor of astronomy and astrophysics. KPR's J. Schafer recently spoke with Hawley about the course... and about KU's new emphasis on astrobiology.

That's former NASA astronaut Steve Hawley, a professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Kansas. He was speaking to KPR's J. Schafer about a course in the study of extra-terrestrial life. Only three schools in the nation offer a minor in astrobiology. KU is now one of them.
