"Beyond Cold Blood" - A History of the KBI

Lawrence resident Larry Welch spent his entire professional career in law enforcement. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a law degree, he became an FBI agent. In 1994, Welch was appointed director of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. When he retired in 2007, he began writing a history of the Bureau called  Beyond Cold Blood: The KBI from Ma Barker to BTK. KPR's J. Schafer spoke to Welch about his book -- and about the agency he led for 13 years.

Welch will be signing copies of his book at 7 o'clock tonight (TUE) at the Lawrence Public Library.
