YOUR support is now more important than ever. This spring, the University of Kansas cut KPR's budget by $216,571 as they braced for financial setbacks from the pandemic. This is in addition to a number of others cuts over the years, totaling $521,571 less annual support from the university since budget reductions began in FY15. That is why we come to you, our loyal listeners, for the support we need to keep this station running strong, because your contributions, along with underwriting, now make up more than 84% of our annual budget.
We're in this together, so please consider making a pledge today. KPR is a listener-supported public radio station. Listeners help pay for the thought-provoking, well-crafted and informative programs. Listeners also pay for transmitters, computers, electricity - everything it takes to bring you those programs.
Join us starting Friday, September 17, for KPR's Power Breakfast (7:30-9 a.m.), where your pledge will be matched dollar-for-dollar, or become a member or renew during Retro Cocktail Hour (Saturday, 9/18, 7-9 p.m.) and Trail Mix (Saturday & Sunday, 9/18 & 9/19, 1-4 p.m.) over the weekend for a chance to win a T-Shirt. Tune in for other great giveaways throughout the week!* We'll also have Sustaining Member Monday on September 20, where we're looking for 100 New & Upgrading Monthly Donors to help us meet a $10,000 match from a generous Topeka listener. Donate online or give us a call at 888-577-5268. And thank you for your support of KPR!
*Technically, donations aren't required for prize drawings, but a gift to KPR would sure be appreciated! Every penny protects the programming you depend on every day. See here for more information about KPR Prize Drawings.
