A Very Ghostly Night at the Next Cinema a Go-Go!

Prepare for a hauntingly goofy night at the next Virtual Cinema a Go-Go! Mark your calendars for  Friday, March 26, 7 p.m., when we show Tormented (1960) and an episode of the '60s TV series  Way Out.

This event is free; all we need is your name and email address in this web form, and you will get the exclusive log-in information for the event. This cinema night KPR is giving away an RCH enamel pin. Bobbi will post the link to the giveaway in the chat during the event. You must be present to win.

In Tormented, Tom Stewart is preparing to marry the woman he loves when his plans become threatened by his old girlfriend, Vi. During a confrontation at the top of the island’s lighthouse, the railing breaks and Vi falls. Tom has a chance to save her but doesn’t! Tom’s relief at Vi’s accident soon fades when her vengeful spirit begins showing up wherever he goes.

In addition, we'll have a rare episode from the macabre '60s TV series  Way Out, hosted by writer Roald Dahl. Originally paired with The Twilight Zone on Friday evenings by CBS, Way Out only lasted a few weeks and presented tales of fantasy and horror introduced by Dahl. Actors who appeared on the brief series include Martin Landau, Mildred Dunnock, Kevin McCarthy, Richard Thomas and Doris Roberts.

This event is  fre e of charge...but we welcome contributions to support  Retro Cocktail Hour and all KPR programming by clicking  here. If you have any questions, reach out to Bobbi at  bwashechek@ku.edu.

This event requires access to a Zoom account. You can download Zoom  here. When you get to the Zoom download page, you will select "Zoom client for meetings." Once you have that downloaded, open the app and create your Zoom account - that way you'll be ready to go for the movie Friday, March 26!

Save the date for the next Virtual Cinema Night on April 30.
