Christmas Through the Ages

Christmas Through the Ages

Our annual Christmas tree display for 2025 will run from Nov. 1 – Jan. 4. Over 240 Christmas trees are included in our tree festival this year. Each tree is different with ornaments that span the late 1800’s through more modern times. Some of our more unique trees include feather trees made from twisted and dyed bird feathers, a tradition developed in Germany in the late 1800’s and brought to America by German immigrants. The only live cut tree stands over 18 feet tall covered in tinsel and is prominently displayed in the former chapel of Lane University which is the top floor of the museum. It is the perfect place for family photographs. Also upstairs is our growing collection of nativity scenes including some from other countries.

Come experience the holiday season in Historic Lecompton. While you are here, visit our shops, eateries and both museums.
