The book describes how and why Kansas City grew into a thriving metropolis serving two states. Commentator Rex Buchanan just read the book and says Kansas Citians can learn a lot about their city by checking it out.
Commentator Rex Buchanan is the Interim Director of the Kansas Geological Survey at the University of Kansas and a regular contributor to Kansas Public Radio. He's also the co-author of the book "Roadside Kansas."
Jim Shortridge's book is published by University Press of Kansas.
