Name that town! - March 7, 2014

Q: The name of this Kansas town might make you think of cheese, but the community actually bills itself as the "Oasis on the Plains." Can you name it?

No, Colby, Kan., is not named after a type of cheese, but it is the county seat of Thomas County, in northwest Kansas. (Flickr Photo by Anne Hornyak)

This town bills itself as the " Oasis on the Plains." Colby is the hometown of several famous folks, including opera singer Samuel Ramey and former U.S. Senator Sheila Frahm, who also served as Kansas Lt. Governor under Bill Graves. Sheila Frahm is also a KPR listener-member, for which we say THANK YOU!
