Washburn Panel Looks at Crimean-Ukrainian Stand-off

A map of Ukraine with a Russian flag over the contested region of Crimea. (Map via Wikimedia)The situation in Ukraine continues to develop following this weekend's referendum on Crimean independence. Next time on KPR Presents, we'll hear about the complicated relationship between Ukraine, Crimea, and Russia from a Washburn University panel held March 10. Panelists include history professor Tom Prasch, political science professors Bob Beatty and Linsey Moddelmog, and economics professor Dmitri Nizovtsev. We'll also hear from Dr. Vitaly Chernetsky, who teaches at the University of Kansas Slavic Department.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
