Major League Baseball is big business in our area, largely because of the success of the Kansas City Royals, the defending world champions. But a hundred years ago, "town team baseball" might have been even bigger. A new documentary called "Town Teams: Bigger than Baseball" premieres tonight (THUR) in Shawnee. The film explores the connection between Kansas communities and their hometown teams. KPR's J. Schafer recently spoke with Mark Honer (HOE-nur), the producer of the documentary.

That's Mark Honer, producer of the new documentary - "Town Teams: Bigger than Baseball." He was speaking with KPR's J. Schafer. "Town Teams" premieres tonight (THUR) at 7 o'clock at the Shawnee 18 Theatres. For more information, visit the Facebook page.
