Laura Moriarty's The Chaperone

Laura Moriarty with Geraldine Brooks

Week of March 24, 2019: Laura Moriarty's "The Chaperone" hits the big screen this week. Join us for a conversation with Lawrence author and University of Kansas professor Laura Moriarty about her novel, a fictitious account of silent film star Louise Brooks, her 1922 trip from Wichita to New York City, and the chaperone who accompanied her. We'll also hear Moriarty visit with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks about her latest novel, "The Secret Chord."

She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
