UPDATE: KPR Spring Membership Drive Is Almost Over

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KPR) - Kansas Public Radio's spring membership drive is nearing an end.  Well, hopefully.  The radio station, which has been broadcasting from the University of Kansas since 1952, is trying to convince all listeners to support the station with a monthly contribution.  KPR replies on listeners for support. In fact, 84% of our funding comes from listeners and local businesses. So far, KPR has raised about $300,000 in the past week. However, recent budget cuts mean the station starts each fiscal year with a $500,000 deficit.  Listeners can help KPR stay on the air, providing coverage of the Kansas Statehouse and tackling other issues of statewide concern. And you can help - by becoming a member today.  Thank you!
