Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has declared a State of Disaster Emergency for the area of south central Kansas threatened by major wildfires, including Comanche and Barber Counties A huge wildfire that is still out of control has burned through more than 400,000 acres in Oklahoma and Kansas. So far, the fire has roared across largely undeveloped open plains, whipped up by winds near 40 mph.  No injuries or property damage have been reported. From KMUW in Wichita, Sean Sandefur has more.
