Time Running Out to Cast an Early Ballot in KS

Voters casting ballots in Douglas County. (Photo by Stephen Koranda)Time is running out to cast an early ballot for the fall election. KPR’s Stephen Koranda reports on how you can cast an early ballot before the deadline today (MON) or vote on election day tomorrow (TUE).

(SCRIPT)

Early voting in person at local election offices closes at noon today (MON).

State law says polls have to be open tomorrow for voting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Local officials can choose to extend those hours by opening the polls earlier or closing them later.

Anyone who requested an advance ballot by mail but hasn't turned it in needs to make sure it’s turned in by the end of voting on election day.

And when you go to cast a ballot, you will need a photo ID.

Stephen Koranda is KPR's Statehouse reporter.
