Politicians around the nation, both Republicans and Democrats, are responding to GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States. U.S. Congressman Mike Pompeo of Kansas's 4th District is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Pompeo says he disagrees with Trump's approach.

Pompeo says Islamic State terrorists are increasingly using the internet to recruit members and spread their message. National security advisers say they are re-examining their policies on when it's appropriate to ask Internet companies to take down dangerous propaganda and social media accounts. In an interview with KAKE-TV in Wichita, Pompeo also said that FBI Director James Comey told him that dozens of investigations regarding Islamic terrorism are under way in Kansas.
