In 2017, the Kansas Legislature will have to deal with major budget problems and the creation of a new school finance plan. But Overland Park Representative and House Taxation Committee Chairman Marvin Kleeb (KLEBB) won't be there. He's resigning, effective January 10th. That's the second day of the 2017 legislative session.
Kleeb is getting remarried next week and he says that was the only factor in his decision to resign. 18 Republican precinct committee members representing Kleeb's house district will elect a replacement. Kleeb is himself a precinct committeeman and will get a vote.
