Murder on Baldwin City's KS Belle Dinner Train

Shortly after departure, passengers inside the Maple Creek car get to know their newly-acquainted tablemates. Once dessert is served, the passengers in this car will take part in the murder mystery, titled Kansas Belle: Murder on the Baldwin Express. (Photo by Jeff Carmody)

The heyday of passenger train travel in this country is long gone. These days, we opt for quicker journeys in planes and automobiles. But is there something to be said for slowing down a little? The operators of the Kansas Belle Dinner Train in Baldwin City seem to think so. Every weekend, they offer a return to an era of elegance, sophistication and mystery. KPR News Intern Jeff Carmody files this report.

The Kansas Belle Dinner Train departs Baldwin City's depot every Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. You can find the train schedule at www.KansasBelle.com
