Mother Earth News Fair Lands in Lawrence

Among the speakers at the Mother Earth News Fair in Lawrence will be Ed Begley Jr. He will discuss his new LEED-certified home and watersaving ideas.Interested in renewable energy? How about organic gardening, recycling and composting? If these things are right up your alley, you might want to head right down - to downtown Lawrence this weekend. Mother Earth News, the Topeka-based magazine about sustainable living, is holding a two-day fair at Buford Watson Park Saturday and Sunday. Publisher Bryan Welch says fairgoers will find all kinds of information on how to live a simpler, more sustainable life.

KPR's J. Schafer recently spoke with him to learn more.

Mother Earth News' Sustainability Fair in Lawrence

 

Thousands of people interested in sustainable living are expected in downtown Lawrence this weekend for the Mother Earth News Fair. The Topeka-based magazine has organized similar fairs elsewhere, but this marks the first time the event has been held in the Midwest. Along with 200 vendors, the fair features information about living simply and sustainably. Lawrence resident Bryan Welch is the publisher of Mother Earth News.

The two-day fair begins Saturday at Buford Watson Park in downtown Lawrence.
