KS Officials Call for Keeping Corporate Jet Tax Break

State and local officials gathered today (WED) in Wichita to call for maintaining tax breaks for corporate jets. Governor Sam Brownback and others say the tax cuts help keep aircraft jobs in Kansas. Wichita Congressman Mike Pompeo made a similar call last week. During a teleconference with reporters Pompeo said he sent a letter to President Obama. It asks the president to visit Wichita and see the aircraft industry there.

President Obama has proposed ending a tax break for corporate jets. It's one of the tax changes he wants as part of his budget plan. Wichita's manufacturing industry has lost thousands of jobs in recent years.
