Kansas Lawmaker Wants More “Normal” Foster Families

The KHI News Service is an independent news agency, largely focused on health policy issues and state government news, based in Topeka.

Kansas lawmakers are considering a bill aimed at encouraging what its sponsor calls more “normal” foster homes. Under the proposal, foster parents who don’t drink, smoke or engage in extramarital sex could qualify for higher payments from the state. Jim McLean of the KHI News Service reports.
