(Photo by Stephen Koranda)Republican Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins and Democratic challenger Tobias Schlingensiepen (schling - en - zee - pen) squared off in a debate in Lawrence last (THUR) night. Jenkins, from Topeka, is seeking her third term representing the 2nd District. Schlingensiepen, a pastor from Topeka, is hoping to unseat her. The two touched on a variety of issues, including their plans to grow the economy. Schlingensiepen says partisanship in Congress is blocking progress on economic legislation.
