Helping Man's Best Friends; Lawrence Humane Society Aims for New Shelter

The Lawrence Humane Society cares for thousands of homeless animals each year. But its aging shelter is outdated and unable to keep up with the high volume of cats, dogs and other animals that move through it. As KPR News Intern Courtney Bierman reports, the Lawrence Humane Society has been trying to raise money for a new shelter - one with more space and a new medical facility.

KPR News Intern Courtney Bierman is a journalism student at the University of Kansas. She also loves animals. (Who doesn't?)
