A report this week paints a negative economic picture for the Midwest and Plains states. The monthly economic survey of nine states comes from Creighton (CRAY-ton) University in Omaha. The report moved the economic outlook down from neutral to negative. Economics Professor Ernie Goss compiled the survey.
It's the first time the survey has moved into negative territory since 2009. Despite the numbers, Goss does not predict a second recession.
