Colonoscopy Patients Face Infection Risk

NeoshoMemorialRegionalMedCenter-Logo 244 patients who had colonoscopies this year at a hospital in Chanute are being advised to get tested for hepatitis and HIV. As Kansas Public Radio’s Bryan Thompson explains, the hospital didn’t properly follow the disinfection procedures for the equipment that was used.

Improper sterilization procedures mean 244 colonoscopy patients at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center need to be tested for hepatitis and HIV.  As Kansas Public Radio’s Bryan Thompson reports, the procedures took place between January first and July 3rd this year.
