Photo by Stephen KorandaGovernor Sam Brownback will be visiting universities in Kansas Today (MON). Eileen Hawley, a Brownback spokesperson, says he’ll be meeting with university officials and talking about the importance of higher education in the state.
The governor will make stops at Pittsburg State University, as well as Emporia State, Kansas State and Wichita State. Brownback will also be praising a bill passed by the Legislature that reverses some university funding cuts that were passed last year. Browback’s likely opponent this fall in the race for governor is Paul Davis, from Lawrence, who is the top Democrat in the Kansas House.
