The University of Kansas lost one of its best broadcast engineers this summer. Bruce Mensie, the retired transmitter engineer for Kansas Public Radio (KANU) and the Kansas Audio-Reader Network, died June 30 after a battle with cancer. KPR's Kaye McIntyre spoke to a couple of his colleagues at KU. Steve Kincaid is the director of engineering for KPR and Audio-Reader. Jason Slote is a recording engineer and the station's production manager. Both men worked with Bruce for decades.
