The weather was cool on the opening weekend of Kansas State Fair but for 90 minutes on Saturday there was plenty of heat on a stage in the center of the fairgrounds. A raucous crowd gathered to watch the contenders in the governor’s race battle it out. Jim McLean of the Kansas News Service was ringside for the event.
