Kansas lawmakers heard testimony this week on Governor Sam Brownback’s proposal to help close the state’s massive budget gap by raising tobacco taxes. But they haven’t scheduled a vote and as Andy Marso of the Kansas News Service reports, there’s plenty of opposition to the idea.
