There could be renewed efforts next year to raise the pay of state employees who make less than the market average for their position. A legislative committee met today (THUR) to explore the issue. State Senator Laura Kelly, a Topeka Democrat, says she supports efforts to pay state employees at market rates. She says lawmakers will have a better idea if it’s possible after a new tax revenue estimate is released tomorrow (FRI).
