Moran Among Senators Seeking Analysis of Costs to Changing NAFTA

Kansas Republican Senator Jerry Moran is one of 18 senators who want the federal government to analyze how much it would cost the agriculture sector should any part of NAFTA be changed. The Trump administration is trying to renegotiate parts of the two-decade-old North American Free Trade Agreement, with agriculture being part of it. The U-S exports about 39 billion dollars worth of agriculture products to Mexico and Canada. Moran says NAFTA is about having access to commodity markets where products can be sold.

Another round of NAFTA negotiations is expected in early 2018.
