Computer hackers recently targeted voter data in Arizona and Illinois, but Kansas election officials here say they're confident the state's voter information is secure. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s office is responsible for the security of voter registration records.
Kobach says it appears hackers were able to view voter registration data in Arizona and Illinois, but they weren’t able to alter those records. Kobach says even if someone was able to access and alter Kansas voter data, the state system tracks all changes, which Kobach says, means any kind of tampering would be discovered and easily reversed.
