The 2016 Kansas legislative session starts next month. KPR’s Stephen Koranda sat down to talk with Governor Sam Brownback about his outlook on taxes, the budget and education. Brownback says he doesn’t believe there should be further changes to tax cuts made in recent years after a tax increase last legislative session. Some lawmakers have said it’s unfair that thousands of businesses don’t pay income taxes thanks to the tax cuts, but Brownback defends the move as one that grows jobs.

That’s Governor Sam Brownback speaking to KPR’s Stephen Koranda. Brownback will unveil his budget and policy priorities in the State of the State Address coming up in January.
