School Finance after Gannon v. Kansas

Last week, the Kansas Supreme Court handed down their much-anticipated decision in Gannon v. Kansas. The case challenged the adequacy and equity of school finance in Kansas; in their decision, the Kansas Supreme Court said the state had created unconstitutional inequalities between school districts by curring state funds. As the Kansas legislature looks at how to respond to the Court's ruling, KPR Presents features a special look at school finance in Kansas from WBUR's On Point. We'll also hear from KPR Statehouse Reporter Stephen Koranda on how lawmakers are responding to the Kansas Supreme Court's decision and how this issue may play out in the upcoming gubernatorial race.
