Police are still searching for suspects in a fatal weekend shooting that left three people dead and wounded two others in downtown Lawrence. Captain Anthony Brixius (BRICK-see-ess) says numerous people witnessed the fatal shooting early Sunday morning and police want to speak with them.

Two men and a woman were killed in the shooting. Captain Brixius says one of the wounded victims - a 28-year-old Topeka man - was treated for his injuries and released. But another victim, a 19-year-old Topeka man, remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Lawrence police say the shootings took place early Sunday morning near the intersection of 11th and Massachusetts Street. Police identified the three victims who were killed as 22-year-old Leah Elizabeth Brown, of Shawnee, 20-year-old Colwin Lynn Henderson, of Topeka, and 24-year-old Tremel Dupree Dean, of Topeka.

The suspect, or suspects, remain at large and officers are seeking the public's help in identifying those responsible. Police are requesting anyone with information to contact the Lawrence Police Department at (785) 832-7509 or Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County at (785) 843-TIPS. Tips made to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous.
