Judge Mary Murguia is awaiting Senate confirmation after being nominated by President Obama to the U.S. District Court of Appeals. She is the first Latina to serve on the U.S. District Court of Arizona. Her twin sister, Janet Murguia, is President and CEO of the National Council of La Raza, the nation's largest Hispanic civil rights organization.
