Admissions Suspended at Osawatomie State Hospital for Mentally Ill

The KHI News Service is an independent news agency, largely focused on health policy issues and state government news, based in Topeka.

The state’s largest state hospital for the mentally ill has used an emergency provision in the law to suspend patient admissions. As Jim McLean of the KHI News Service reports, ongoing renovations needed to comply with federal regulations have limited the Osawatomie State Hospital’s capacity.
