Topeka police shot and killed a knife-wielding man this (MON) morning while responding to a call. Police Chief Ron Miller says officers were called to check on a man that Miller says was aggressive and combative. The man communicated with officers through the door, saying he wanted them to leave. Miller says the man eventually came out of his apartment with a knife and the officers retreated down the hallway.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. The officer who fired the shots has been placed on administrative leave.
