Storms Roll Across KS, Dumping Rain, Hail

Severe storms rolled across eastern Kansas, bringing high winds and dumping heavy rain and large hail in many areas.  John Woynick, with the National Weather Service in Topeka, has been sorting through storm reports this (FRI) morning.

Rainfall totals varied widely, but Woynick says Brown County got as much as two-and-a-half inches.

In south-central Kansas, storms knocked down numerous power lines, leaving thousands without power, mainly in the Wichita area.
