KSU Promotes Ag Drones

LINDSBORG, Kan. (AP) — Agriculture and aviation experts at Kansas State University are touting the value of unmanned aircraft in helping farmers save time and money. The Hutchinson News reports faculty from the university's Agriculture Department and its Applied Aviation Research Center showed off the use of drones last week in Lindsborg. A Kansas company that's been working with KSU expects to start selling $7,000 farm drones soon.

KC Police Investigating Stabbing Death

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Kansas City, Kansas police are investigating an apparent stabbing death. Police said officers responded yesterday (SAT) morning to reports of a stabbing and found a woman in her 40s dead. A man identified as a person of interest was found about a block away from the scene and was taken in for questioning. The identity of the victim wasn't immediately released.

Wichita Fatality Involves Pedestrian, Cars, Horse

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita police say a 49-year-old man has died after being struck by two vehicles while crossing a road with a horse and a 6-year-old boy. The Wichita Eagle reports that the first vehicle fled after the collision. The second vehicle struck after two bystanders ran to the aid of the man, the child and the horse. The horse was reportedly euthanized. The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.

Wichita Man Drowns While Trying to Retrieve Boat

EL DORADO, Kan. (AP) — A 29-year-old Wichita man has drowned while trying to retrieve a boat at El Dorado Lake. The Butler County Sheriff says a dive team used sonar equipment to find the body of Oscar Rodriguez Vargas Friday evening.
