Members of the first family welcome the Christmas tree to Cedar Crest.After a hiatus, a real Christmas tree is back in the governor’s residence. Last year, concerns over fire codes blocked the first family from putting a real tree in Cedar Crest. But Governor Sam Brownback says they studied the law a little more closely and found putting a real Christmas tree in the residence was allowed.
The tree was delivered to Cedar Crest today (Wed). Brownback says a real Christmas tree will also return to the Statehouse this year.
