The Kansas Department of Transportation will be testing the capacity of its popular online 511 service today (TUE). Computer software will attempt to overwhelm the online roadmap with log-in requests, so that KDOT can see if it needs to make any upgrades to its server capacity. Barb Blue, a KDOT spokeswoman, says that during the test, the 511 telephone service will still be operational.
While the test is going on, people logging in to the 511 Traveler Information map online will see snow and blizzard conditions listed. The test will last through 4 o'clock this (TUE) afternoon.
