Gov Pushes Budget Negotiators Towards Compromise

Governor Sam Brownback says he has met with leaders in the House and Senate and urged them to reach a budget agreement before the scheduled end of the session on Thursday. Brownback says he met with budget negotiators and proposed a compromise between bills that passed the two chambers.

Budget talks, once stalled, are now making progress. Negotiators have come to agreement on many items and are closer to striking a deal on high-profile issues like education funding.
