Executive Director of Economic Group: Tax Cuts Don't Guarantee Economic Growth

The executive director of the not-for-profit Kansas Economic Progress Council says that focusing on taxes is a very narrow way to try to grow the Kansas economy. Bernie Koch (COOK) says the huge income tax cut passed by the Kansas Legislature will not necessarily result in the growth that other states have enjoyed.

The Kansas Legislative Research Department projects that the recent tax cuts will result in a state budget defeicit of $2.5 billion within the next six years. The Kansas Economic Progress Council represents businesses, trade organizations and chambers of commerce in the state.
